Work out exactly what you will pay and what you will save. Enter the original price and the discount percentage to see the sale price, the amount you save, and the total percent off — including stacked discounts such as “30% off plus an extra 20% off”.
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the original price and the discount percentage.
- Add a second discount if you have stacked discounts, or leave it empty.
- Read the sale price, total percentage off, and amount saved (updates as you type).
Try this: original price 1000 and discount 20% gives an $800.00 sale price and $200.00 saved.
If the price is missing, you will see a message asking you to enter the original price.

Stacked discounts multiply: 30% off then an extra 20% off is 44% off in total, not 50%.
Note: This calculator excludes sales tax unless stated — the sale price shown is the pre-tax price, and any tax is added separately at checkout.
Discount calculator FAQs
How do stacked discounts work?
Stacked discounts multiply instead of adding. If an item is 30% off and you get an extra 20% off, you pay 70% of the price, then 80% of that reduced price — 0.70 × 0.80 = 0.56, so you pay 56% and the total discount is 44% off, not 50%.
What is the sale price formula?
Sale price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). For example, a $1,000 item at 20% off: $1,000 × (1 − 0.20) = $800. Your savings are the original price minus the sale price ($1,000 − $800 = $200).
Why is the total percentage off different from adding the discounts?
Because the second discount applies to the already-discounted price, not the original price. Adding 30% + 20% suggests 50% off, but multiplying the remaining amounts (0.70 × 0.80) gives a true total of 44% off.
